about

The track was specially commissioned by the BBC 21st Folk series and has had extensive coverage on BBC TV and Radio 2. It chronicles the amazing work of Andrea Bell, who, with her fellow volunteers, runs a soup kitchen and food bank called The Sunderland Community Soup Kitchen which serves around 100 folk in great need every day with good food, clothes and shelter.

I’ve always felt that music can be a big conduit of empathy and hope, and can come alongside us and remind us that we’re not alone in the world. If you want to present a picture of a big issue in a song, then find one person within it and tell their story.

*A portion of the royalties from the track will go to support & raise awareness for Andrea's work.*
